Maple Roasted Brussel Sprouts

 

I know many have tried boring and bland boiled Brussel sprouts.  Understandably, you did not like them.  However, these roasted brussel sprouts, crispy, slightly sweet, with a hint of horseradish, will forever change your mind.  Will you try them Sam I Am?  You’ll be glad you did!  Promise!

And just so you know, Brussel sprouts are packed with the good stuff your body will thank you for.   They’re a good source of antioxidants, good for bone strength, high in Vitamin C, A and E and also has beneficial minerals.  Not only will your taste buds breath a big sigh of contentment, so will your body!   Not to mention the health benefits of garlic and maple syrup… Yum.

 

Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Vegetarian, Vegan

Recipe

12 large brussel sprouts (cut in half)

3 tbsp olive oil

4 cloves garlic (minced)

2 tbsp maple syrup

 

Preheat oven to 375 degrees fahrenheight

Place brussel sprouts on a cookie sheet, toss with olive oil and roast in oven, periodically turning over for about 45 minutes.  Skins will be dark brown and cripsy.  Mix the garlic and maple syrup onto the sprouts and return to the oven for about 5 more minutes.  Remove from oven and serve immediately.

And this is what they should look like when you put the maple syrup and garlic on them….nice crispy brown skins.
